Strengthening Our Relationship with Water
At Dreamcatcher Holistic Health Services Inc. (DHHS), we know that water connects, sustains, and heals us. Our Connection to the Sea Program is a collaborative initiative co-facilitated with local community fishing guides, knowledge keepers, and Elders to ensure that each experience is shaped by and for the people and places we serve.
This program can be integrated into your community's youth programs, men's groups, healing circles, and more.
Collaborative and Community-Led
Every program is unique and grounded in local knowledge, priorities, and traditions. We partner directly with:
Community Fishing Guides:
Bringing practical skills, traditional harvesting practices, and local expertise.
Knowledge Keepers & Elders:
Sharing stories, language, teachings, and protocols honouring the deep relationship between people and water.
DHHS Facilitators:
All facilitators are trained as Mental Health Responders, supporting participants’ wellness and safety throughout every activity.
Together, we create experiences that build community capacity, empower youth and families, and strengthen cultural identity.
Our Holistic Approach
Wellness Integration:
Every program is designed with mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being in mind. Our trauma-informed facilitators support safe spaces for healing, connection, and growth.
Food Sovereignty:
Participants learn about sustainable fishing, shellfish harvesting, and local food systems; revitalizing knowledge and skills for community nourishment.
Respect and Care for Land & Water:
Activities are grounded in stewardship, teaching respect, gratitude, and responsibility for the land and sea.
