Holistic, Indigenous-Led Solutions for Land, Wildlife, and Community Well-Being
Dreamcatcher Holistic Health Services Inc. (DHHS) delivers holistic, science-informed, and culturally grounded environmental and wellness services. We offer comprehensive, integrated solutions that honour the land, empower communities, and foster the next generation of Indigenous leaders. Our work combines Western science with Indigenous knowledge, resulting in effective, ethical, and impactful approaches to land, wildlife, and people.
Our Integrated Services
DHHS provides a suite of integrated, professional services for governments, organizations, communities, and the public:
Land Management & Assessment Services
We deliver integrated land management and assessment solutions tailored to the specific needs of private landowners, government and institutional partners. Our team draws on Indigenous knowledge systems and scientific expertise to address fire risk mitigation, invasive species control, habitat restoration, and ecological monitoring. Every project is designed with regulatory compliance, cultural protocols, and sustainability, strengthening ecological resilience and advancing reconciliation and stewardship.
Public Hunting & Land-Based Education
Our services promote responsible resource use and cultural revitalization. We offer accredited training, including the Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (C.O.R.E.) course, and are certified BC Wildlife Federation Examiners. Beyond licensing, our land-based education includes medicinal plant walks, species identification workshops, and teachings on sustainable harvesting. All offerings are tailored to diverse groups, supporting intergenerational knowledge transfer, food sovereignty, and deeper environmental connection.
Government & Organizational Partnerships
DHHS excels at developing collaborative partnerships with government bodies, institutions, and allied organizations. We integrate Indigenous and Western approaches to design, implement, and evaluate programs that meet community needs and institutional mandates. Our work spans applied research, wildlife management, environmental assessments, workforce development, and cultural safety initiatives; always ensuring accountability, compliance, and cultural integrity.
Public Events & Presentations
We deliver engaging events, workshops, and presentations for communities, professionals, and stakeholders. Our expertise includes mental and physical health, diabetes education, land stewardship, Indigenous engagement, suicide prevention, wellness hub development, and innovative environmental initiatives. Each session is customized for the audience, blending Indigenous and scientific perspectives to foster meaningful dialogue and actionable outcomes.
What Sets DHHS Apart
A Distinct Approach to Land and Community Stewardship
We are 100% Indigenous-owned and led. All our services are guided by Indigenous values, knowledge keepers, and Elders, ensuring every project is community-centred and culturally safe.
Integrated Indigenous Youth Apprenticeship
Every DHHS service can integrate Indigenous youth and young adults through apprenticeships, mentorship, and employment opportunities. Participants gain real-world experience in land management, wildlife monitoring, and community engagement, building skills for long-term careers.
Evidence-Based, Measurable Impact
We blend rigorous Western science with Indigenous knowledge to deliver holistic, innovative solutions. All our projects are measured, analyzed, and reported on—tracking environmental outcomes and community well-being for evidence of positive change.
Stewardship With Accountability
We prioritize transparency, regular updates, and open communication. Partners receive comprehensive reports and feedback opportunities, ensuring all stakeholders see and understand the impact.
Full-Spectrum Resource Utilization
Our programs emphasize the respectful, full use of resources. From habitat restoration to community-based harvest, we ensure all parts—meat, bones, fats, and hides—are used for food, medicine, tools, and culture, promoting food security and cultural revitalization.
Innovation Through Collaboration
Our multidisciplinary teams bring together Indigenous knowledge holders, scientists, educators, and youth to address complex ecological challenges and strengthen community resilience.
Commitment to Reconciliation and Community Well-Being
Our work advances reconciliation through respectful partnerships, Indigenous employment and leadership, and direct benefits to communities. We focus on ethical engagement, mutual learning, and long-term land and community health.
Our Signature Initiatives
Food Forest Initiative
We design and steward food forests, diverse, resilient ecosystems that sustain people and wildlife. Our approach restores native plant communities, improves soil and water health, and provides food and medicine. Each project involves:
- Site assessment and custom design
- Selection and planting of native, culturally significant species
- Community-engaged planting and workshops
- Ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and youth apprenticeships
- Education on harvesting, food sovereignty, and stewardship
Food forests are living classrooms for food security, cultural revitalization, and environmental education. We welcome contracts from private landowners, organizations, and institutions.
