Medicine and Edible Plant Walks

Participants learn about the medicinal and edible plants found in the natural surroundings. These walks provide insight into traditional plant-based healing practices and nutritional knowledge, connecting individuals to the land's offerings.

Medicine and Edible Plant Walks offer a unique opportunity for individuals to connect with nature, learn about the diverse flora found in the region, and explore the traditional and modern knowledge of medicinal and edible plants. These walks serve as both an educational and experiential journey, providing participants with a deep understanding of the natural world and its potential uses. We aim to work with local healers, medicine people, and knowledge keepers to ensure that relative traditional knowledge is shared.

Quote

"This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."
- Chief Seattle
Chief Seattle of the Duwamish and Suquamish is the namesake of the city of Seattle, Washington.
