Canadian Firearms Program – Non-Restricted PAL Course
When? May 30, 2026, 9am - 5:30pm
Where? Victoria (downtown)
Ready to get your Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL)? Join us for the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC).
This course covers the knowledge and safe-handling skills you need to safely and legally own and use firearms in Canada, with a strong focus on safety, responsibility, and federal requirements.
You’ll learn the ACTS and PROVE safety principles, safe firearm handling, and the rules for storage, transportation, and display. We’ll also cover basic non-restricted firearm types and operation, ammunition fundamentals, and your legal responsibilities as a firearms owner in Canada. The course includes preparation for both the written and practical evaluations, with time for questions throughout.
Training is instructor-led and includes classroom learning and hands-on instruction with deactivated firearms.
The course is intended for first-time applicants seeking a Non-Restricted PAL, as well as anyone who wants a structured, safety-first refresher before applying.
- Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID, note-taking materials, and water/snacks/lunch.
- The course takes place in downtown Victoria, with the exact location provided upon registration.
- Completion of the course does not issue a PAL; it qualifies you to apply. All participants are expected to follow safety rules and the instructor’s directions at all times.
Contact us to reserve your spot; the course is $250 and must be paid in advance.
