Bear Aware Training

Bear Aware Training supports safer work and recreation in bear country through prevention-focused education and practical response planning. Participants learn how to reduce attractants, recognize higher-risk situations, and respond appropriately during an encounter.

Topics typically include: bear behaviour and awareness in common encounter scenarios; prevention strategies (travel practices, food/attractant management, site habits); recognizing sign and assessing risk; encounter response planning to support personal and group safety.
